Google Street View, as easy as copy & paste
So how does one go about making a map available at one’s blog?
It is not hard at all, let’s do it step by step.
The first thing is to visit http://maps.google.com and find the location you want to show (I have checked that this embedding works with WordPress.com too).
Here I am going to the search and looking for Hordaland fylkeskommune.
When you are in this window, you can either embed this map (as I have done in the right hand menu – UPDATE: BUT THIS DOESN’T WORK ON WORDPRESS.COM – ONLY WORKS INSIDE A POST – Thanks Eva for pointing this out) or go to Google Street View to embed a 360 degrees view of the location. To do that, you have to grab the little orange person in the top left corner of the map and place it in the location you want to see.
Once you are there, you can go to “Link” (on the top right corner of the map) and there you will get three options: a) to send the map by email, b) to embed it as it is or c) to customize the size of the map.
The image below shows the “Customize” window. Once you have made the changes you want, all you need is to copy the code below, go to your WordPress.com blog, and paste it in a new article.

Det viser seg å ikke være “bare bare” å legge inn kartet direkte fra google maps til bloggen. Har fulgt oppskriften, men programmet nekter å la meg gå videre. Det blir et rødt kryss foran lenken.

Kanskje det som skjer er at du prøver å legge in lenk istedenfor embedding kode?
